Peyton found her hands recently. About 2 weeks ago I noticed her sucking on her finger. At the time I thought it was just a cute accident. Since she’s working on fine-motor skills, her hands fly willy-nilly all the time so I thought her finger just happened to land in her mouth and she started sucking. But it’s happened regularly since then. And by regularly I mean multiple times a day and it’s definitely on purpose. She even soothed herself back to sleep during a nap one afternoon. She had lost her pacifier and woke up fussy. Apparently I didn’t get to her fast enough because when I walked into the room she was sucking on her fist and I watched her fall back asleep [ADORABLE]!
After a morning walk/jog around the neighborhood last week she was hanging out in the car seat, enjoying her fist and finger.
And one morning this weekend she decided she was done nursing and started sucking her hands.
I love watching her develop and learn new things. It’s amazing how quickly they grow in these first few months!
Until next time — Cindy
