I was just a liiiiiitle bit excited about Easter! We got so many cute things for Peyton’s first Easter basket, spring is in the air, and the tomb is empty!
We spread out our Easter celebration over the whole weekend this year! Peyton got to dye her first Easter eggs, help me decorate, open her first Easter basket, and hear the Resurrection story – the only reason we celebrate Easter in the first place. We spent our Easter morning at church – the worship was so good even though I really like a choir and our church didn’t do a choir this year – and spent our afternoon enjoying at time at home. And Grandpa & Grandma J were here to help us celebrate.
Even though she doesn’t understand at 9 months, I hope we are able to explain to Peyton (and our future children) that it is more than Easter eggs, and more than new outfits, and more than even spending time with family but that it’s about celebrating Jesus and what’s more – the fact that death couldn’t hold Him! The tomb is empty, He is risen!
Until next time — Cindy
