Peyton’s 2nd Birthday Party

Peyton turned 2 years old on June 2 and we celebrated at home with the cake of her request – pink cake and blue icing!  She even blew out her own candles like a pro!  The next weekend, while all the grandparents were here, we celebrated a second time with yummy cake after dinner.

Her gifts from dada and mama were a cute little table with umbrella and chairs and a Minnie umbrella.  And she was showered with fun gifts and clothes from grandparents, aunts and uncles and extended family and friends.

We planned her big birthday party for several weeks later, after Sloane was born and we had been home and settled down.  The theme was Minnie Mouse and Daisy which was perfect when we planned her party in May but by the time her birthday rolled around she would prefer to play with any toy except Minnie and Daisy.  We trudged ahead with the theme anyway and found some really cute decorations at Party City and little crafts for the kids at Michael’s craft store (although kids that little were much more interested in eating or running).

I didn’t get very many pictures during the party since I was either holding Sloane or helping Peyton but we had a really good time.  Everyone thought I was crazy for hosting a birthday party just a few weeks after Sloane was born but I felt much better then than I would have hosting a party 9 months pregnant!

Thank you to everyone that came to her party or sent cards or gifts to make our sassy little gal feel loved!

Until next time — Cindy
