Last weekend we spent our Saturday making the backyard pretty. Peyton loved helping us pick flowers at Lowe’s and after lunch she was all-hands-on-deck to help Forest get them in the flowerbeds. I can’t wait for these plants to get bigger with more blooms so enjoy all summer!
loving. Our 2016 family photo book – it just arrived today and it’s beautiful!
needing. A nap.
wanting. To hold our baby girl in my arms!
So I missed posting a Thoughts on Thursday yesterday. I’ll go ahead and be honest and let you know that I took a nap while Peyton napped instead of typing a post. Trust me – it was very needed.
So here I sit on a Friday evening. We just laid Peyton down for bed and Forest is in the basement painting and grouting tile so he can install baseboards tomorrow and be D.O.N.E. [except for dusting everything and putting it all back in place which we’ll do tomorrow and he said his basement will be done for Mother’s Day – how sweet. ;)].
So here are a few thoughts from my week:
Peyton and I made the easiest peanut butter cookies yesterday afternoon. My dad made them over the weekend for a cookout so
I the baby was obviously craving them and I’m telling you, they are SO easy! Which is the goal when baking with kids, right?!
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup peanut butter
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients and spoon onto cookie sheets. Bake for 10 minutes. Times vary so check frequently (I had used 3 cookie sheets and the best ones were baked for 14 minutes but my dad said his didn’t need to bake as long so it depends on the oven!).
I haven’t posted a single update for this pregnancy and I feel really bad. Not necessarily for any of you readers but mostly for our little one! Who knows how long I’ll continue to blog but I don’t want this little baby to feel neglected when she reads through my blog to see several updates throughout Peyton’s pregnancy but only one – at 32 weeks! – of her pregnancy. So this might be a lengthy post but stick with it! If you’re interested. :)
